Scheduled to take place from 21 July to 23 July at the Boet Troskie Hall at CUT, the summit will build on the success of the previous event, with a focus on addressing the challenges and opportunities presented by the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR). This year’s theme, “Accelerating Economic Growth and Development of the Free State through Innovative 4IR Technologies,” sets the stage for insightful discussions and collaborations.

Objectives and Expectations

The summit aims to consolidate the gains made during the inaugural summit in 2023, especially in light of the pandemic impact on the province’s socio-economic landscape. It seeks to foster collaboration among various stakeholders to enhance the identification and deployment of 4IR technologies across the province.

Prof Alfred Ngowi Perspective

Prof Alfred Ngowi, acting Vice-Chancellor and Principal of CUT, highlighted the summit’s significance in advancing the participation of youth and establishing new networks with key stakeholders in the province. He emphasized the need to capitalize on the partnerships forged during the first summit, especially given the challenges posed by the pandemic.

As the 2nd Free State Industry 4.0 Summit approaches, the collaboration between the FSPG and CUT stands as a testament to their commitment to driving economic growth and development through innovation. By harnessing the power of 4IR technologies and fostering partnerships, the summit aims to unlock new opportunities and pave the way for a more prosperous future for the Free State.
