At the recent annual Long Service Awards ceremony, Prof. Henk de Jager, Vice-Chancellor and Principal, emphasized the importance of recognizing employees. CUT Recognition Of Solid Performers

Prof. de Jager highlighted that the Long-Service Awards acknowledge solid performers—individuals who are loyal, committed, and dedicated to the university. He reiterated the university commitment to its employees, stating that it is essential to provide them with opportunities to achieve their full potential. The Vice-Chancellor emphasized that experienced employees are the backbone of the university, with the 27 recipients boasting a combined service record of 590 years, a testament to their remarkable commitment.

One of the long-serving employees recognized was Ms. Dimakatso Maile, Library Assistant: Circulations, who shared her career journey of 30 years. She began as a cleaner in student residences and gradually advanced to become an experienced Librarian. Ms. Maile story exemplifies the opportunities for growth and development that exist at CUT.

Another dedicated employee, Mrs. Victoria Koma, Lecturer: Accounting, expressed her gratitude on behalf of all recipients. She thanked CUT for being an exceptional employer and emphasized her 15-year journey with the university, stating that she has experienced nothing but love and support. Mrs. Koma expressed her contentment and loyalty to CUT, highlighting that she cannot imagine working anywhere else.
