Milestones Celebrated by CUT Management Sciences. The Faculty of Management Sciences at the Central University of Technology (CUT) recently held its annual faculty awards ceremony, recognizing outstanding achievements by both staff and students. The event, held on 08 March 2024, serves as a platform to celebrate excellence and inspire all members of the faculty to strive for their highest potential.

CUT Recognition of Excellence

The awards ceremony acknowledges the hard work, dedication, and commitment demonstrated by individuals within the faculty. It also serves as an avenue to showcase the high-quality teaching, learning, research, and innovation practices that align with the university’s vision and mission.

CUT Keynote Address

The ceremony featured a keynote address by Prof. Dave Lubbe from the University of Free State-Centre for Accounting. Prof. Lubbe emphasized the importance of never forgetting the basics in life and continually striving for personal and professional growth. He encouraged students to set high standards, maintain balance in their lives, stay focused, and remain committed to their work and studies.

CUT Award Categories

Outstanding achievers were recognized in various categories, including Best First Year Student, Best National Diploma Student, Best BTech Student, and Best Master’s Student. Additionally, the ceremony honored individuals for their contributions to teaching and research. Mr. Bongani Magagula received the Early Career Teaching award, Dr. Willien Fourie was awarded the Advanced Career Teaching award, and Dr. Rene Haarhoff received the Mid-Career Research award.
