Student Wins SANORD 3MT Competition At CUT. The SANORD 3MT (Three Minute Thesis) Competition challenges graduate students to present their research succinctly and engagingly to a non-specialist audience in just three minutes.

Competition Objectives

This academic competition emphasizes effective communication skills, encouraging participants to condense complex research projects into concise and accessible presentations. It provides a platform for showcasing research, practicing communication skills, and fostering interdisciplinary understanding and collaboration within the Southern African Nordic research community.

Recognition of Winner

Julian Nwodo, a doctoral student in the Faculty of Engineering, Built Environment, and Information Technology (FEBIT), was recognized for his research on ‘Re-Engineering of existing wastewater stabilisation ponds for improved contaminant removal’.

 Winner Reflections and Acknowledgments

Mr. Nwodo expressed gratitude for the support from the Research Office and his supervisors, highlighting the invaluable assistance received. He encouraged postgraduate students to seize opportunities offered by the Research Office: Graduate School.
