CUT Hosts Webinar Series on Comprehensive Internationalisation

CUT Hosts Webinar Series on Comprehensive Internationalisation. The Centre for Global Engagement at the Central University of Technology (CUT) recently hosted its first Inaugural Family Week Webinar Series on 7 and 8 December 2024.

The webinar series aimed to deepen discussions on comprehensive internationalisation and explore how this strategic approach can be effectively implemented at CUT to enhance the university international academic partnerships.

  • Strategic Focus: Mr Leolyn Jackson, Director of the Centre for Global Engagement, emphasized CUT commitment to internationalizing the institution. He stressed that comprehensive internationalisation, globalisation, and internalization of higher education are interconnected strategies crucial for ensuring students’ global competence and showcasing the university’s academic talent on a global scale.
  • Expert Input: Professor John K. Hudzik, renowned for his work on Comprehensive Internationalization, delivered a keynote address emphasizing the need for universities to align policies, procedures, and programs in an intentional and coordinated manner to achieve comprehensive internationalisation.
  • Panel Discussions: The webinar featured a diverse panel of international and CUT speakers who shared project-based case studies to illustrate the role of comprehensive internationalisation. The discussions focused on themes such as the evolution of internationalization in higher education, digitalization of international research, and the integration of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) into research initiatives.
  • Success Factors: Prof. Ulrich Holzbaur, a professor at Aalen University and an honorary professor at CUT, highlighted the importance of successful international collaborations, attributing their success to people, trust, and seizing opportunities.


CUT Vision 2030 aims to establish the university as a leading African University of Technology by 2030. The webinar series underscored the pivotal role that collaborations and international partnerships play in realizing this vision.
