Dr Jane Nkhebenyane, CUT Acting Head of the Department of Life Sciences, highlighted the university’s longstanding partnership with Lebone Village, spanning six years.

CUT Impact at Lebone Village

Lebone Village provides care for 42 boys and girls aged from 3 to 23 years. Lulu Polisa, a representative from Lebone Village, expressed gratitude for the donation, emphasizing the critical role the sanitisers will play in their daily operations.

“The sanitisers are going to help us immensely. We will use them to sanitise the children’s hands, but also for our staff, especially those who do not reside at the village,” said Lulu Polisa.

CUT Further Contributions

In addition to Lebone Village, the faculty will also be dropping off sanitisers at Fereira Hospice and Hertzogville Hospice, contributing to the Mandela Day initiative of serving for 67 minutes in honor of Nelson Mandela legacy.

This initiative by CUT underscores the importance of community engagement and collaboration in addressing public health challenges, particularly in the context of the ongoing pandemic.
