The CUT Lxias FC Team is Ready For The 2024 Sasol League National Championship. Ixias FC women’s team is geared up for the 2024 Sasol League National Championship Tournament, scheduled to be held at the Dr Petrus Molemela Stadium in Bloemfontein from 16-22 October 2023. They are part of the nine provincial winners competing for the national title.

The Sasol League provides a platform for young and aspiring women footballers to kickstart their careers. It aims to develop players to excel not only within South Africa but also on the international stage.

Free State Province Representatives

Ixias FC, representing the Free State Province, has been drawn into Group C. Deputy Manager Smith Ntlangeni expressed confidence in the team’s ability to perform, emphasizing their courage and determination.

Preparation for Success 

The team has been working diligently to prepare for the tournament. They are focusing on physical and psychological fitness, engaging a fitness and condition coach from Thabong High-Performance Centre. Additionally, they are organizing frequent friendly matches with their U/17 Men Developmental team to enhance strength, endurance, and overall performance.

Championship Details CUT Lxias FC Team

The championship will take place at the Dr Petrus Molemela Stadium, with the winner receiving a grand prize of R200,000. Second and third place will receive R100,000 and R60,000, respectively. The top two teams will also be promoted to the Hollywoodbets Super League.

Strategy and Mindset

Ntlangeni emphasized the importance of a positive mindset and cautioned against complacency. He highlighted the team’s approach to monitoring player fitness and fatigue to ensure optimal performance.

Tournament Format

The tournament will feature nine group stage matches, followed by three knockout matches. The group stages will be broadcasted on Sasol and SAFA social and digital media platforms, with the semi-finals and finals televised on SABC Sports Channel and SABC 1, respectively.
