Visit of U.S. Consulate Johannesburg to CUT. The U.S. Consulate General in Johannesburg, led by Mr. Vincent Spera, recently paid a visit to the Central University of Technology (CUT) on 16th September 2024. The purpose of the visit was to explore potential areas of collaboration and reinforce the longstanding relationship between the two institutions.

The delegation was warmly received by Prof. Henk de Jager, the Vice-Chancellor and Principal of CUT, who emphasized the importance of partnerships in achieving success. Prof. de Jager stated, “Partnerships are crucial for our success. We believe that by collaborating with others, we can achieve more than we could on our own. We hope that by the end of your visit, you will not only be our guests but also our friends.”

Some of the notable collaborations include partnerships with Illinois University and the Faculty of Health and Environmental Sciences, Nebraska State University and the Faculty of Engineering Built Environment and Information Technology, Station 1 Laboratory Inc., University of West Kentucky, and Georgia State University. These partnerships focus on various areas such as agriculture, information technology, STEM education, and teacher education development research.
