CUT Confers Four Doctoral Degrees at Its Welkom Campus. The Central University of Technology (CUT) recently celebrated a momentous occasion, conferring doctoral degrees upon four outstanding candidates during its graduation ceremony. This event marked a significant milestone as it was the first physical graduation ceremony held since March 2024, with a total of 3,798 graduates proudly walking the stage.

In recognition of their remarkable achievement, the university hosted the Chancellor Doctorandi Dinner. This prestigious event serves as a showcase of the highest academic standards, celebrating the academic prowess and contributions of the newly crowned doctors to the advancement of CUT as a leading center of learning.

Chancellor Mahube Molemela Congratulations

CUT Chancellor, Justice Mahube Molemela, extended her heartfelt congratulations to the newly capped doctors.   • Dr Phumzile Masala, Doctor of Communication in Language Practice
  • Dr Mmamore Babedi, Doctor of Education
  • Dr Lucien Lezar, Doctor of Philosophy in Management Sciences
  • Dr Mkhumbulo Ndlovu, Doctor of Education

Graduation Statistics

A total of 3,798 students graduated during the 2024 Autumn Graduations, with 2,981 from the Bloemfontein Campus and 817 from the Welkom Campus, including 14 master’s and 4 doctoral degree students.

This graduation ceremony not only celebrated academic excellence but also highlighted CUT’s commitment to producing future leaders and innovators who will make a positive impact on society.
